Expression of Interest are invited for Recruitment of a Training Services Provider for Capacity Building of Agri-Entrepreneurs under the Better Life Farming Alliance Project in India
This assignment is part of the project "Better Life Farming Alliance
(BLFA)", a global partnership between Bayer Crop Science, Netafim, Swiss Re and the IFC, launched in April 2018, aiming to enable three million smallholders to unlock their farming potential and improve their livelihoods by 2030. The objective behind BLFA
is to design and prove holistic models for working with small farmers that provide systemic impact on smallholder livelihood(through improvements in farm yields and incomes) and business impact on alliance partners in terms of increase in sales revenue
and market-share. This will be achieved by a comprehensive package of agri inputs, extension support and market off takers in the project geographies.
The project objectives will be delivered through developing last mile retailers or agri entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs will complement the BLFA partners' extension teams in farmer engagement and extension support, stocking and sale of agri-inputs for BLFA partners, and also serve, if required, as aggregators for farm produce in villages.
Under this backdrop, IFC proposes to
i.Recruit a training service provider (TSP) agency which will identify, train and coach 1500 agri-entrepreneurs to play the role of last mile retailers for BLFA partners in the project areas.
ii. All training content and training curriculum will be provided by IFC;
iii. IFC will conduct ToTs for the TSP team and supervise overall roll out of trainings provided to agri entrepreneurs;
TSP team to begin work in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, and may expand work in other states upon feedback from IFC and Bayer.The period of engagement will be 12 months and may be extended further based on performance of TSP.
