The funding for the project is part of a proposed three-year Danish contribution to support UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC) located in the UN City Copenhagen on the topic of Net Zero Strategies.Alongside Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), long term- net zero strategies (LT-NZS) form the backbone of the Paris Agreement and pave the ground for low emissions development pathways around the globe. Their coherence and mutual alignment are therefore critical to ensuring ambitious and effective action towards limiting global average temperature increase and adapting to the impacts of climate change. The sixth assessment of IPCC is unambiguous about immediate action and achieving Net Zero CO2 emissions by 2050. There is no one-size-fits-all format for LT-NZS, and their scope and depth are determined by the countries themselves.
