The overarching objective is to study options for enhanced privatesector engagement in pandemic prevention, preparedness and response (PPR) in the State of Gujarat building on ongoinginitiatives and explore potential new approaches. There are three different tasks and objectives as outlined below: 1. Task 1: Document the Integrated DiseaseSurveillance System in Shantigram Housing Society, Ahmedabad:· Detail the process ofdeveloping the surveillance system, including stakeholder engagement and institutionalmechanisms.· Identify innovations andchallenges in reporting various surveillance information and use of the dataincluding promotion of community led initiatives for prevention.· Analyze surveillanceinformation over a period of 6-12 months applying both quantitative andqualitative tools to assess the system's effectiveness.· Provide recommendations forimproving the existing system and document key lessons to promote this approachas a model for replication in other urban housing societies. 2. Task 2: Conduct a Process Evaluation ofthe collaborative Integrated Disease Surveillance involving both public andprivate sectors in Surat Municipality.· Identify key enablers thatcontributed to the successful partnership building.· List factors including trustbuilding measures that ensured sustained reporting by the private sector · Mechanisms being used toprovide feedback to the private sector· Document lessons emerging forwider application especially in metropolitan disease surveillance 3. Task 3: Develop a Model for InvolvingPrivate Sector Laboratories in Disease Surveillance:· Engage with key stakeholders, including private laboratories and the health department, to develop the model.· Implement the model forsurveillance of specific conditions as per the IDSP norms and ensure reportingto the IHIP portal in one district.· Evaluate the model'seffectiveness over a period of 6-12 months.· Document the key lessons andprovide recommendations for improving private laboratory parti...
