About Plan India:
Plan India is a nationally registered non-profit organization that aims to advance children-s rights and equality for girls, thus creating a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable and excluded children, their families, and communities. Plan International initiated its programs in India in 1979. It began its services in need-based and welfare approach only with sponsored children and their families till 1994. Between 1995 to 2003, Plan India began the Integrated Community Development approach to benefit many children beyond the sponsored children. During this period, the programs were designed for individual and community development. In 1996, Plan India was registered as a National Organization. It has engaged in a big way in the humanitarian sector by responding to the Asian Tsunami in 2005-2006 and released its first report on “State of the Girl Child in India”. From 2005, the Child Centered Community Development approach was practiced by Plan India which put children at the center of all our actions and decision-making processes. This has since continued with Plan India incorporating a gender transformative approach to all its programs.
Basis of the needs of the young people who are the first generation learners, Plan India launched a project named ‘Paramarsh- (Hindi word which loosely translates as guidance and/or consultation in English), as a unique intervention for career guidance services since 2021. A key learning of the project was that there were no as such support on career guidance and digital skill building and therefore young people were unable to access various career related opportunities by using digital space.
Plan India will be implementing a project in Mumbai, Greater Mumbai and Pune in the state of Maharashtra . The aim of the project is to enhance the knowledge of 2500 young girls from the three locations who will be provided career guidance support on digital literacy and equip them to link with job opportunities and help them to participate gainfully in the formal economy. The intervention will conduct training of young women in digital skills, employability skills, capacity building of faculty members, and sensitization of stakeholders, parents and awareness in communities, linkages to industry for employment, creating peer networks and finally networking with LinkedIn platform.
Overall objective of the Project : Enhance capacity of young girls who are first generation learners from disadvantaged communities on transferable digital skills for increased employability by creating a conducive gender-transformative environment.
Project purpose: By the end of the project Oct, 2023, 2500 young girls from Mumbai, Greater Mumbai and Pune are digitally equipped and enhance their employability skills for job suitable opportunities.
Objective of the proposed assignment:
To create/curate 5 modules on digital skills for providing blended trainings (offline and online) to 2500 girls in Mumbai, Greater Mumbai and Pune, for a combined minimum of 85 hours per trainee.
About the assignment and scope of work:
5 modules will be developed on digital skills (digital marketing, smartphone as a tool for business, e-platforms (like LinkedIn) for networking and job search), soft skills (resume drafting, interviewing, presentation, networking), English, and, employability skills (creative problem solving, smart remote communication, collaboration, negotiation).
In this regard, Plan India wishes to identify a suitable agency / individual expert to develop the user friendly/ easy-to-use training modules with pictorials and graphics. The assignment is to develop module based on the following five specific areas which will help trainers to do effective and impactful blended trainings with young girls.The primary language of the digital training modules will be English and these are to be translated in Marathi.

All these five modules will have session plans, outlining the session objectives, methodology, design the agenda, type of resource materials require for the training, Pre and Post training assessment and feedback formats, pictorial support, role plays, Ice Breaking Exercises, case studies for making each training sessions through a participatory approach, Do's and Don'ts for trainers and participants for effective sessions.
Each separate module will have content, type of sessions to be crafted as per the needs of young girls, highlight various schemes, scholarships, name of the placement agencies, local industries, corporate and relevant service providers.
Various methods and important role of parents, good case studies for role plays, list of referral agencies are to be covered in the module.
Desired qualification, and experience of the individual expert / agency as consultant:
The above mentioned scope of work is expected to be carried out by an individual expert or agency, or academic institution, or research organization.
Prior demonstrable experience of designing training modules/curriculum, training materials preferably with evidence of similar products. Training material for vulnerable groups will be an added advantage.
An expert or agency which should be able to demonstrate analytical skills and have experience and knowledge to complete the assignment in time
Good experience in conducting workshop and management, including participatory training approaches
A minimum of five (5) years- experience in conducting individual and organizational trainings like the thematic areas mentioned in these TOR

The individual expert and agency should be willing to share some samples of their previous work developed by them.
Profile of the consultant (max 1 page) explaining why they are the most suitable for the work.
Relevant Experience (max 2 pages).
Detailed methodology and conceptual framework with expected deliverables and timelines, man days required (3-5 pages).

An inception report including a detailed work plan and timelines, detailed methodology, a report format of the modules to be submitted within 7 days from the commencement of the assignment. Draft modules for the thematic areas outlined above with interactive methodology, graphics and pictures. Pilot testing the draft modules
Final training modules (Hard and soft copies? the soft copies should be in both editable and PDF versions).
Training guidelines with clear content and tools
General conditions
Individual expert/Agency will provide draft training module to Plan India for review and pilot test it before submitting final product.
Hired expert/agency will prepare a time frame for this particular assignment, field testing for work plan and share the same with Plan India.
The expert or agency will be expected to be remained in touch with focal point person for literature review of various training modules developed by Plan India and external agencies on this subjects and updating the progress of work from time to time .
Duration of the assignment: The duration of the assignment can be for one month.
Consultancy fees: The fees will be decided based on the appraisal of technical & financial bids by individual/ consultancy agency.
Disclosure of information: It is expected that the consultant will not disclose, distribute and / or disseminate any information or part of documents developed by the agency/expert without the consultation with Plan India or prior approval during and after the effective period of the contract.
Children Safeguarding Policy: Plan is committed to protect children and to prevent them from any harm they may be exposed to through our work. Therefore, the successful applicant will be requested to sign and comply with Plan-s Child Protection Policy. This is a Level 2 assignment as per Plan-s Child Protection Procedures and may have some contact or interaction with children.
Suggested Methodology
At the beginning of the process, the agency/consultant and relevant Plan staff will conduct meeting(s) to discuss and agree on the methodology, tools and approach proposed by the consultant in his/her proposal: The overall strategy, sampling plan, coordination and implementation plan of the assessment.
The scan will look at the current situation/baseline value of the indicators in the project log frame to help track progress of the project.
Time plan including milestones and management reporting from consultant.
Data handing over to relevant Plan offices at the end of the process.
Child protection, gender equality, ethical considerations during implementation of assessment.
