Tenders are invited for Consulting Services, Enhancing Climate Resilience of Kerala's Road Network Project Measures: The heavy monsoon of 2018 brought widespread flooding to several districts of Kerala damaging about 2, 000 km of state highways and 13, 000 km of major district roads across 14 districts. PWD is considering developing a more sustainable and climate resilient asset stock in the medium to long term. For that purpose, approximately 700 km of roads will be selected following prioritization study and Detailed Project Reports preparation. The “building back better” principles will be applied for the rehabilitation of these roads. Requested Services: The Services requested under this assignment concern the technical assistance including: Study of Innovative Road Materials and Construction Techniques - Collection and Review of the Relevant Documentation, Selection of Existing Sections, Assessment of Current Practices, Identify Sources of Raw Materials, Evaluation of the Environmental Hazards, Examination of the Recycling Possibilities of the Pavement Materials at the End of their Lifecycle, Selection of Pilot Sections, Develop Mix Designs, Development of Technical Specifications for Improved Pavements, Supervision and Monitoring, Evaluation of the Performance of Reclaimed Pavements, Bioengineering, Biotechnical-engineering, Geosynthetics-Engineering for Slope Stabilization and Erosion Reduction, Drafting guidelines and Technical Specifications, Preparation of an Action Plan& Training and Knowledge Dissemination.
