BOQ Item Description: Supplying and transporting earth of specified quality (as per specification and drawing) from borrow-pit i.e. the source not owned by UCIL but arranged by the Contractor at his own cost including all taxes, royalty etc and filling the same in embankment in Random Fill Zone in layers not exceeding 250 mm in proper profile to various heights above existing ground level, watering of each layer in the stipulated manner as per specification and / or direction of the Engineer-in-Charge and compaction by mechanical means to acheive required degree of compaction as per specification, disposal of excess of unusable material all complete as per drawing, specification and direction of the Engineer-in-Charge for any lead and lift (sectional measurement for compacted filling will only be paid).
