Japanese Government's Official Development Assistance (ODA), which is channelized through JICA, is disbursed in the form of bilateral and Multilateral aid. In case of bilateral aid, the assistance is given directly to developing countries, whereas in case of multilateral aid it is provided through Multilateral Funding Agencies. The bilateral aid is provided in the form of Technical Cooperation, Japanese ODA Loans and Grant Aid.
In order to meet the diverse needs of developing countries around the world, JICA uses multiple ways, to finance the development assistance schemes. Below are few example: Technical Cooperation, Official Development Assistance Loans, Official Development Assistance Grants, Citizen Participation, Public-Private Partnerships and Emergency Disaster Relief.
