BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) is the group of 5 emerging economies in the world. BRICS came in to existence in 2009 with four members and South Africa was added in the year 2010. BRICS comprises more than 3 Billion people (about 45% of world population) and a GDP of around USD 40.55 Trillion (about 32% of World's GDP on PPP basis).

The public Procurement market size in BRICS zone amounts to approximately 6.15 Trillion USD, which is the highest for any such alliance.
