Description : The UN Gigiri Complex comprises 140 acres, and hosts approximately 50 UN agencies, funds and programs and 3, 500 UN staff. Office buildings/ blocks A-J at the UNON complex were constructed as semi-prefabricated buildings in 1978, intended as temporary accommodation. They comprise nine blocks for offices, medical and other operational functions, and three blocks of workshops and a canteen. The overarching objective of the Replacement of Office Blocks A-J Project is the construction of new, right sized buildings to replace office blocks A-J which are now fast approaching the end of their design lives. Directly related to this objective are two other independent works packages. Renovation of the remaining office blocks to make more efficient use of all the existing office space through implementation of flexible workspace strategies, and the early works, which includes the repurposing of an existing publishing services building into a modern, state of the art, mixed use service building. This EOI focuses on the early works package, the scope of which includes repurposing of an existing 2, 500 square meter building made up of office, production and warehouse space, construction of an adjacent annex and consolidation of all UNON's service functions into this new 5, 000 square meter mixed use service building.
