Tender Details

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invites not-for-profit international and national partners working in Malawi to design and implement a community-based conservation project to improve the protection of the Lake Malawi National Park UNESCO World Heritage property through sustainable use of natural resources together with the local communities and relevant government authorities over 24 months.Specific objectives: Objectives (impact): The Outstanding Universal Value of the Lake Malawi National Park World Heritage site, including its values, integrity and conditions for protection and management are effectively and equitably protected in line with Sustainable Development Goal 11.4., contributing to healthier ecosystem that support sustainable development and well-being of people. Objectives (outcomes): 1. Communities in and outside Lake Malawi National Park World Heritage site enforce fishing bylaws with support from government and non-government organisations, resulting in respect for the national park regulations, and conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. 2. At least 2000 households in enclave communities of the LakeMalawi National Park use fuel efficient cookstoves, resulting in reduced use of wood from the protected area and improved state of conservation of the National Park.Further details are available in Form 7-20 including three annexes.
