General Procurement Notice for Feasibility Study and Project Preparation for the Green Abu-Rawash Sludge Facility Project.

1. The Arab Republic of Egypt has received a grant from the African Development Bank acting as administrator of a grant fund provided by the Republic of Korea under the KOAFEC Trust Fund toward the cost of the Green Abu Rawash sludge facility project.

2. The objective of the Project is to establish an integrated approach to the treatment and reuse of sludge at the Abu-Rawash Waste Water Treatment Plant in order to: (i) tackle the problems of sludge collecting in treatment plants; (ii) reduce Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and (iii) reduce the carbon footprint of the sludge handling process and produce energy.

3. The Project consists of six (6) activities as follows:

Activity 1: Undertaking a feasibility study and project preparation for the Green Abu- Rawash sludge facility;

Activity 2: Preparation of biding documents based on standard format used by the Bank and other development partners;

Activity 3: Preparation of a proposal for submission to the Green Climate Fund;

Activity 4: Preparation of Environment and Social Impact Assessment ESIA according to national and development partners’ guidelines;

Activity 5: Undertaking institutional capacity building in database and information technology; and

Activity 6: Carrying out training and on-job training on procurement, climate change, proposal preparation for green climate

4. Acquisition of the services of Consultants and Procurement of goods will be in accordance the procurement policy for African Development Bank Group Funded Operation dated October 2015. Specifically, Bank’s Procurement Methods and Procedures (Banks PMPs), . Bidding documents are expected to be available in March 2019
