The United Nations World Food Programme Kenya seeks Warehouse Space in Nairobi

The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is the food-assistance agency of the United Nations and is the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.

In order to complement its operations in Kenya, UNWFP seeks to rent warehouse space in Nairobi

The facility will have to comply with the following minimum criteria:

Area of warehouse required is a minimum of 50,000 square feet all within one area.
Location should be within Nairobi or its environs, preferably along Mombasa Road not more than 1 km of the main A109 highway. The access link from Mombasa road to the warehouse facility should be tarmacked.
Adequate water supply and storage or access to a borehole.
Sufficient power supply of industrial voltage and a backup generator.
Warehouse grounds should have adequate space for trucks to manoeuvre, offload/load cargo as well as parking.
Permanent perimeter fence reinforced with electric wire.
Warehouse should have provision for well ventilated office space with electrical connecting ports for use of office electrical and electronic equipment.
Within a gated compound, preferably with a maximum number of other three or less users.
Warehouses should meet all statutory requirements for the storage of food for human consumption as well as building safety codes as per local government health and safety regulations (evidence of the same to be provided including up to date necessary permits and licenses).
Should be ready for occupation from November 2017.

The following are the minimum/documentation requirements:

Detailed company profile
Certificate of incorporation.
Copy of valid KRA VAT certificate and Tax Compliance Certificate.
Map of the facility.
Statutory documentation relating to compliance with personnel safety and storage of human food.
Current business licenses and permits plus proof of insurance of the building against fire hazards.
Proof of ownership/Title deed of facility or lease agreement (Lease agreement should be for a period of more than two years.)

The above documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked 'UNWFP Warehouse Space-Nairobi, Request For Information-July 2017' to the above mentioned office on or before 1200 hours - 24th July. 2017
