The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved yesterday the announcement of the transmission auction for the contracting of new transmission lines and substations, scheduled for December 20, at 9 am, at the headquarters of B3 in São Paulo . The winners of the event will be required to build, operate and maintain the projects offered throughout the concession period.

The bidding document foresees 16 lots with projects in 13 states (AP, AM, BA, ES, MG, PA, PR, RJ, RS, RO, SC, SP and TO). The projects total 7,152 kilometers and 14,829 Megavolt-Ampere (MVA) capacity. The studies indicate the total investment volume of R $ 13.2 billion and generation of 28,671 direct jobs.

In the dispute, the company or consortium that submits bid with the lowest annual allowed revenue (RAP), in relation to the amount established in the bidding document for each lot, wins. The so-called "Maximum RAP" of the projects totals R $ 2.139 billion.

The auction includes uncollected lots in previous calls or projects taken over by the agency for having the concession terminated due to non-compliance with contractual clauses. This is the case of the reinforcement and expansion lots of Porto Alegre and its metropolitan region.

The projects have a start-up period of up to 60 months. The largest lot will serve Santa Catarina, with an investment of R $ 2.791 billion and generation of 5.5 thousand direct jobs.
