The Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Development Office announced the award of the Windmill Wind Energy Project to the consortium led by French energy company EDF Energies and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, known as Masdar.
This achievement represents another important step for the Kingdom to create a diverse mix of energy sources, putting renewable energy technologies at the forefront of its concerns.
Upon completion of the project, the $ 500 million Domat Al Jandal Wind Power Plant will generate about 70,000 residential units of sustainable capacity and is expected to generate approximately 1,000 jobs during the construction and operation phases.
