The covered hall project launches the battle for the municipal Construction and Real Estate

The city council, Friday evening, gave rise to a pass of arms between the opposition and the majority.
"You Continue to Sell Dream to Beauvaisians"

The Election Campaign is launched. Friday night, almost every file of the Beauvais City Council has been debated. The most virulent concerned that of the covered hall project. The opposition questioned the majority on the need to invest € 40,000 in a study while the project was already in the boxes of the city in 2014.

In 2014, the municipality had already mentioned a covered hall project, here is one of the images created to illustrate it.
"Whether you call it covered market, food or gourmet, it's the same project, says Anne Geffroy (Generation s). You abandoned the project in 2014, which no doubt meant lost communication costs and compensation for candidates. This study is funded with public money. You pick up the same chorus a year before the municipal elections. The majority has retreated behind the evolution of society to justify this investment. "In four years, things can change and we need to see if this project is still economically viable," says Charles Loquet, trade manager. Is a gourmet market with producers and restaurateurs adapted to Beauvais? Do not be mistaken. We will be careful not to compete with our traders. "

More annoying would be the competition with the gourmet market project announced in November by Financière Immobilière Bordelaise (FIB), owner of the shopping center Jeu-de-Paume and Galeries Lafayette, which could accommodate it on the ground floor. In preamble of the municipal council, last week, the majority had indeed announced that his project "would fade before the private". A suspicious timing for Grégory Narzis (PRG), elected opposition, the project of the FIB is expected to materialize in less than a year. "The FIB has necessarily made its decision for its gourmet market, he says. Do you have news about this project? We do not hear anything about it anymore. "

Annoyed by the question, Caroline Cayeux just replied that she would not "talk about private projects". "You know, but you prefer not to answer to the municipal council," regrets Grégory Narzis. "By your attitude, you continue to sell dreams to Beauvaisiens," adds Thibaud Viguier (Generation s). The opposition abstained, leaving the majority to authorize the launch for the study of a gourmet market.
