The Sudanese government has put forward a plan to boost the role of Arab construction companies in implementing reconstruction projects in countries affected by the recent unrest in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen.

Eng. Dr. Malik Ali Dongola, Vice President of the Arab Contractors Union and Chairman of the Sudanese Contractors Union told Asharq Al Awsat after his return from Jordan that the meeting of the Arab Contractors discussed the harmonization of the statutes of the Arab Contractors Union, in line with the unified, Sadia. He also discussed the role of the Union of Arab Contractors in the reconstruction and development in the Arab countries, and the development of a program and the activation of means to achieve the objectives of the Union contained in both the statute and the corresponding system.

Dongola pointed out that the meeting discussed the presidents of the Arab Contractors 'Associations for the countries affected by the events and the need for reconstruction, namely the heads of the Iraqi, Syrian and Libyan Federations to do all that is required to give the Arab contractor the largest role in this and facilitate the entry of mechanisms and contractors' equipment.

And between it it was agreed to create a database of the Secretariat of the Union of Arab Contractors in Cairo, including all reconstruction in Arab countries projects, which have a ready-financing, as well as the expansion of the database of the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Contractors, to include contractors in each Arab country and degrees of classification They and their ability to work in reconstruction in various fields.

He referred to the establishment of partnerships and forums for the Arab contractor, the development of a plan for reconstruction and development, and the creation of major economic and financial entities to assist those countries in reconstruction and development.

On the plan and implementation of these projects, Dongola said that meetings will be held with the Arab financing institutions to provide funding for reconstruction and that conferences will be held in countries that need reconstruction. A delegation from the Federation will visit countries suffering from the effects of wars and conflicts, , To discuss ways of reconstruction in the coming period, followed by a visit to Libya and Syria .
