Japan embassy economic attaché in Azerbaijan Republic Toshihiro Katagiri said that the Japanese firms and businessmen have a great deal of interest in using Astara-Astara railway to promote their business.

He said that by completion of this railway a lot of goods will be transferred from Iran to Russia and vice versa.

Japan embassy political attaché in Iran Masamichi Saito said Astara-Astara railway would have a great economic influence on the countries of the region, especially Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan Republic.
