Isolux Corsan won contract for Construction of two 115 kV Substations Power and Energy

Spanish engineering and construction firm, Isolux Corsan has won a contract for the construction of two 115 kV substations in Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia.

The $40mn project, awarded by Saudi Arabia's National Grid, is due to complete within 27 months, said the Madrid-based company.

Isolux Corsan will build of two new substations and modify the existing substation at Al-Uqair.

It involves the design, material supply, testing and commissioning of two substations, as well as the modified substation. The company will also provide equipment for the automation system.

This is the company's first contract in Saudi Arabia, which has one of the highest energy production capacity in the world.

It hopes the new contract will help to boost Isolux Corsan's presence in the region.

The company is currently working on Bidbid South Freeway expansion in Oman, for a total value of $212.7mn and is also building 17 km of 300 kV transmission lines in Kuwait at an estimated cost of $98mn.
