Galfar retains $100 million ODC contract from PDO Power and Energy

The north Oman off-plot delivery contract (ODC) by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) which was awarded to Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co in May 2005, has been subjected a variation to contract (VTC) to extend the contract for another one year from August 2014 to August 2015. The new contract’s extension value is estimated to be around $100 million.

The recent variation to contract to expand the contract, the earlier variation of which had been until August 2014, improves Galfar’s stake and reliability as PDO’s decisive contractor in the awarded contract to provide support so as to assure that oil delivery and flows continue to facilitate the sultanate with its prime source of revenue generation.

This complex project has been conducted by Galfar in the northern regions of Oman, covering various locations, including Fahud, Qarn Alam, Yibal and Lekhwair, stretching an area of more than 200km by 200km, and facilitating maintenance services in design, civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation activities.

Task at the massive project includes supporting oil-production functions, with the scope of work ranging from wellhead location preparation activity to facilitating flow lines, pipe-lines and numerous such activities.
