The Project on the Messapic Walls of Ugento was built on land owned by the association "Messapia, land between the two Seas" and financed by the Puglia Region on the Projects Por 2014-2020, for a total amount of 500,000 euros, in collaboration between Municipality of Ugento (mayor Massimo Lecci), Superintendence of Fine Arts, Archeology, Landscape (Laura Masiello and Serena Strafella), designed by Francesco Baratti. The archaeological excavation work was carried out by the company Zis di Paolo Schiavano.
