UNICEF has now issued aLRPS-2026-9204310 in order to select a supplier for the provision of TECHNICAL STUDIES MISSION FOR THE REHABILITATION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER NETWORKS OF CENTRAL NYUNZU, CENTER OF MOBA AND KALEMIE IN THE PROVINCE OF TANGANYIKA Armed conflicts and intercommunity clashes in Moba and Nyunzu have caused significant population displacements. This situation has aggravated poverty and vulnerability, thus generating primary humanitarian needs. necessity, in particular access to drinking water in sufficient quantity and quality. Furthermore, the province of Tanganyika is facing a serious cholera epidemic which affects 9 of the 11 health zones. This situation was made worse by flooding recurrent incidents which have deteriorated an already fragile health environment and affected all basic social services. Between January 1 and May 4, 2025, health authorities reported 2, 420 cases of cholera, including 41 deaths, a figure significantly higher than the same period in 2024 (322 cases, 4 deaths) and in 2023 (1, 355 cases, 17 deaths). The insufficiency of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) services is one of the major factors explaining this upsurge.
