Description: The decentralization process is well advanced in the Republic of Congo. Nevertheless, there is an extreme weakness of municipal structures. The general objective of the project, of which this market is part, is to improve the living conditions and attractiveness of the towns of Nkayi and Owando. Sanitation was chosen as a concrete application area for capacity building for local authorities because it is a local area.

As Technical Assistance to town halls, the team for this mission should assist town halls in steering these local monitoring committees and in coordinating the various stakeholders on the “Resilient Cities” project.
