SELF FINANCING SCHEME/ARRANGEMENT
INVITATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION
The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) intends to introduce Electronic Tax Stamps Management System to monitor excisable products that include but not limited to wines, spirits, beer, beverages, cigarettes and mineral water.
TRA now invites applications for pre-qualification for the Supply, Installation, and Supporting of Software and Hardware for Electronic Tax Stamps Management System under self-financing arrangement. The main objective and purpose of this project is to ensure that TRA has an effective mechanism to control and monitor revenue collection on the excisable goods through the use of electronic tax stamps system. In view of that TRA will be able to enhance tax compliance, combat illicit trade and thus minimize the risk of Government revenue loss through the use of electronic tax stamps.
Pre-qualification will be conducted through the International Competitive Tendering a procedure specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013-Government Notice 446 of 2013, and is open to all firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures that meet qualifications for eligibility, experience, financial capability and technical requirement.
Interested eligible Firms may obtain further information from the office of the Secretary TRA Tender Board, Tanzania Revenue Authority-Headquarters, Room No. G15, Ground Floor, Sokoine Drive, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 8:00am to 17:00 hours on Monday to Friday inclusive except on public holidays. Sealed Envelopes containing the pre-qualification sent by post must be registered and clearly marked "PRE QUALIFICATION DOCUMENTS FOR THE SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, AND SUPPORTING OF SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE FOR ELECTRONIC TAX STAMPS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM and "DO NOT OPEN BEFORE WEDNESDAY 11TH MAY, 2016 AT 10:00 HOURS LOCAL TIME, must be delivered to the above indicated address at or before Wednesday 11th May, 2016 at 10:00 hours local time.
A complete set of Pre-qualification Documents in English may be purchased by interested applicant on the submission of a written application bearing name of the firm, e-mail, postal address, fax and telephone to the Address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS. 100, 000/- (Tanzania Shillings One Hundred Thousand Only). The method of payment will be by banker s cheque, banker s draft or cash to Tanzania Revenue Authority.
