Tenders are invited for Supply and installation of stand-alone solar systems in 73 agricultural facilities in Eritrea
Description of the contract:
The project ‘Support to the agricultural sector/food security in Eritrea’ is financed by the 10th European Development Fund. The project purpose is to enhance food security through increased agricultural production and productivity and improved food access at household level. It is comprised of 3 components: capital investments, access to food, and sector governance. This contract is for the supply, delivery, unloading, installation and commissioning of 73 solar systems for powering:
a) 6 milk cooling centres, 3 of 5 000 litre capacity and 3 of 3 000 litre capacity and 6 solar water heaters, each of 600 litre capacity;
b) 6 regional poultry centres, 1 in each of the 6 administrative regions of the country;
c) 6 regional veterinary laboratories, and 45 veterinary clinics in most of the Sub-Zobas;
d) Ministry of Agriculture Gejeret Office and 3 agricultural research centres namely, the National Research Institute at Halhale, the Shambuko and Tekreret research centres;
e) 3 potato and other vegetable stores;
f) 3 flower irrigation farms.
The project includes site preparation, fences, gates, trenches, structures, buildings, containers, air conditioning system, lighting systems, remote control system, drainage system and foundations. The PV generation with battery storage shall act as a stand-alone power system and whenever there is a grid in the premises it will be connected with automatic switching to act as a power back-up supply.
The aggregate solar PV power capacity of all these systems is about 1, 6 MW.
