Tenders are invited for Reinforcement and Rehabilitation of the Regional Electricity Distribution Network and in Cotonou.

The Millennium Challenge Account Benin II ("MCA-Benin II") plans to launch a call for tenders for completion of the work of strengthening and rehabilitation of the regional electricity distribution network and in Cotonou. Through this notice, MCA-Benin II invites interested companies to provide information on their experience of similar projects before the launch of the contract.
It is important to note that this Request for Information does not constitute a call for tenders or a promise to publish a Tender Documents in the future and therefore does not commit MCA-Benin II to contract for a few work that it is; however, it could serve as a precursor to a procurement process.
This request for information is an information gathering process in which MCA-Benin II seeks to gather information from companies in the field of HV / MV substations (161/63/33/15 kV) as well as underground links and overhead lines (63 kV, 33 kV, 15 kV). As participation is entirely voluntary, MCA-Benin II encourages all companies in this field to participate and express their interest.
Respondents are advised that MCA-Benin II will not pay any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this request for information; all costs associated with responding to this Request for Information will be solely at the expense of the interested party.
The United States of America, through the Millennium Challenge Corporation ("MCC") and the Government of Benin (the "Government" or "[GoB]") has signed a Millennium Challenge Account Support Compact approximately $ 375, 000, 000 ("MCC Funding") to promote poverty reduction and economic growth in Benin (the "Compact"). The Government, acting through the Millennium Challenge Account- Benin II (the "Owner"), intends to use part of the MCC Funding to make payments authorized under this contract for which this notice of application information is disseminated. The objective of the Program is to increase the productivity and production of enterprises, to create more economic opportunities for households and to improve the capacity to provide public and social services by improving the quantity and quality of supply of electricity.
The Project concerned by this request for information is the Project "Distribution of Electricity" which includes the following three activities:
"Reinforcing and Rehabilitating the Cotonou Power Network" Activity: This Activity will contribute to strengthening the reliability of the network to meet the future growth of the demand for connections by investing in several infrastructure projects, with the construction of new underground links, new posts, as well as the extension of the electricity network in the city of Cotonou.
Activity "Strengthening and Rehabilitation of the Power Grid at the Regional Level": This Activity will support the replacement of power lines, the strengthening of source stations, the installation of new distribution posts and the construction of new posts in some cities in Benin.
