Plastic waste, pollute rivers, oceans, threaten marine life, clog the drainage and sewage pipes in cities and increasingly invade grazing areas. This is a very serious threat to the environment, human and animal health. These bags and packaging take 400 years to degrade, forr have served only twenty minutes. According to IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) results, plastic bags contain toxic substances such as bisphenol A, which has a negative impact on sex and thyroid hormones and causes cancer to develop. obesity and diabetes. The accumulation of rubbishe plastics causes the appearance of vermin, odors and causes stagnation of water. This is at the root of many health problems in the population: malaria, gastrointestinal diseases, etc. Occasionally, plastic waste is burned, resulting in air pollution. Plastics littering the streets uglyand eventually invade all terrestrial and aquatic environments causing significant damage. According to Green Peace, about a million birds and a hundred thousand marine mammals die each from ingestion of plastics. Despite its negative impact onhealth and the environment, the use of plastics is part of everyday Togolese. So, morethousand tons of plastics are imported, while about fifteen thousand tons are produced per year. Also, about one thousand three hundred tons of plastics are consumed while twelve thousand tons are exported. The overall objective of the study is to have a situation of the plastic sector in Togo in order to put in place an adequate strategy inFor its sustainable management.Specifically, it is to: analyze the regulatory and political framework of the plastics sector, list the production units and plastic distribution channels in Togo, Provide reliable and up-to-date data on the import, production, use, export, recycling of plastics, have data on themanagement of plastic waste (collection, recycling, reuse etc.). to identify alternatives to the use of the sachet in Togo
