Functionality: Carrying out procedures for inactivating pathogens in a dose of platelets in an additional solution on the MIRASOL device, Terumo BCT, to obtain virus-inactivated platelets. Technical characteristics: Sterile platelet processing system. Components: 1) one transparent package with two compartments for separate storage of the irradiation container, with a white tear-off strip for opening, and a package of riboflavin with a tear-off stripe. 2) opaque foil packaging with a 35 ml packet of riboflavin solution. 3) storage/irradiation container with clamp, attached tubing, frangible connectors, and sampler with break-off plug. Scope of application: Dose processing platelets on the MIRASOL device, Terumo BCT, for the purpose of pathogenic activation.
