ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
Lagos is Africas most populous city with an estimated population of 21 million people, and a population growth rate of 4.8% per year (higher than the Sub-Saharan average of 3.7%). Lagos is also the economic hub of Nigeria, projected to become the fastest growing mega-city in the world by 2035. With rapid urbanization and associated economic and industrial development, ambient air pollution poses a growing environmental health risk to the inhabitants of Lagos. Ambient concentrations of Particulate Matter (PM2.5), known to have the most detrimental effect on human health, have been recorded as reaching orders of magnitude higher than the World Health Organizations air quality guideline value in locations in Lagos. Various sources of air pollution exist in Lagos, such as road transportation, industry, power generation, improper waste management, burning of polluting fuels in households and others. The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Following this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
Only those firms which have been shortlisted will receive notification. No debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
