REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (REOI) FOR PROVISION OF VARIOUS SERVICES TO IGAD ON FRAMEWORK CONTRACT BASIS FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2019

BACKGROUND

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) whose members are Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, the Sudan and Uganda and thus Member States (MS) was established in 1986, in response to the recurrent droughts of 1970s and 1980s. In 1996, the mandate of IGAD was revitalized to introduce peace and security as pre-requisite to development and areas of focus expanded to encompass food security and environmental protection, economic co-operation and political and humanitarian affairs. IGAD promotes robust and sustainable socio-economic development in the region.

Overall objective

IGAD serves as a secretariat and is mandated to organise, coordinate and mobilise efforts of the member states through organising workshops, meetings, forums that bring together stakeholder to address issues as they fall due. This therefore brings us to the understanding and appreciation of the need to pre-arrange, engage, and source venues/facilities appropriate and befitting IGAD to host these events, meetings workshops, forums and occasions accordingly.

Cognizant of the frequency of the meetings, conferences and workshops being organized across the entire IGAD region (in Member States), a great and colossal funds are involved to secure conference venues for IGAD’s meetings and workshops. Besides the workshops, interpretation services are in most cases required for these meetings as the membership/participation is from IGAD’s Member States whose languages are French, English and Arabic. Therefore, this calls for engagement of services for interpreters. Also IGAD in most cases engages services of secretarial firms where a lot printing, binding is required thus secretarial services being a crucial service.

Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has ascertained funds for the procurement of various services given below in different categories and hereby invites potential interested service providers for Conference facilities, interpretation/translation and secretarial service to submit in their expression of interest. The resulting contract shall be on a framework contract basis.

As meetings are always organized in the capitals of Member States, the call for expression is strictly intended for Nationalsinterested hotel, conference facility providers, interpretation firms and secretarial service providers to express their interest in doing business with IGAD. All potential service providers from all IGAD Member States who meet the criteria are encouraged to submit in their expression of interest/proposals. The resulting Contract shall be on Framework Basis.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested Service providers must submit their expression of interest (company profile, reference letters, and other relevant credentials with a cover letter) and price quote that will stand for a whole year.
