Pre-qualification notice are invited for Construction of Ndego hillside irrigation project Ihema block (926ha) and Nasho block (911ha) in Kayonza District, Eastern Rwanda.
Project : Kayonza Irrigation and Integrated Watershed Management Project - Phase II (KIIWP II).
The Government of the Republic of Rwanda has received financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Kingdom of Spain administered by IFAD, toward the cost of the Kayonza Irrigation and Integrated Watershed Management Project - Phase II (KIIWP II). The Government intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for the Construction of Ndego Hillside Irrigation Project - IHEMA (926 Ha) and NASHO (911 Ha) Blocks in Kayonza District, Rwanda. The use of any IFAD financing shall be subject to IFAD-s approval pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Financing Agreement, as well as IFAD-s rules, policies and procedures.
The works under this prequalification include, but are not limited to, power supply from the national grid to pump stations and irrigation systems; electro-mechanical works for pumping stations; construction of water intake structures and reservoirs; installation of distribution pipelines; installation of Centre Pivot Irrigation Systems; installation of Dragline Sprinkler Irrigation Systems; and civil works including earthworks, construction of pump stations and reservoirs, drainage systems, staff accommodation, offices, warehouse and mini-garage facilities, as well as access and murram roads. The expected construction period is twenty-four (24) months.
The Employer now invites eligible contractors to submit applications for prequalification for the above-mentioned works. The objective of this prequalification process is to identify and shortlist qualified contractors with proven technical, financial, and managerial capacity to successfully execute large-scale irrigation infrastructure works of similar nature and complexity. Only applicants that are prequalified will be invited to submit bids in the subsequent Invitation for Bids.
