Non-open urban development and open space planning implementation competition according to RPW with subsequent multiple commissioning
The Stadtlauringen market and the "Kapellenquartier" south of the town center are part of the model project COUNTRY TOWN FACILITY of the Free State of Bavaria. The aim is to develop sustainable perspectives for the future development of the district together with administration, politics, specialist partners and urban society.
In the model project, Stadtlauringen is pursuing the goal of building the "Kapellenquartier" step by step to reorganize and upgrade - as a mixed-use area close to the town center, which should become particularly attractive again for the young generation and at the same time offer everyday qualities for residents, employees and customers.
Private and public areas should work together considered and suggestions for repurposing existing buildings such as the old storage tower
or the festival hall can be found.
The focus of the development is on the following key themes:
• Space for new forms of living and working and togetherness,
• Quality of stay and accessibility in the public space,
• Climate adaptation through water-sensitive "sponge city" development,
• the connecting function between the old town and the settlement expansions (Kerlach district towards Sulzdorfer Strasse as well as towards the school and the Dornhecke district).
