This is a market exploration process in which interested companies initially contact each other informally and express their interest in the contract without submitting an offer. The client then decides whether the aforementioned services are then public be advertised. The specified offer period means the period in which an informal expression of interest can be submitted. No offer is expected at this point. Requirements profile for suppliers: transmission system operators with our own export cables to offshore wind farms in German territorial waters in the North or Baltic Sea; The Alpha Ventus research wind farm in particular is of interest and is being prioritized. Availability of free optical fiber cables (“spare fibers”) in the cables Possibility of connecting fiber-optic measuring instruments (“Distributed Acoustic Sensing”, DAS) on land, e.g. in a converter station Requirement: Access and support for a fiber-optic measuring instrument (“Distributed Acoustic Sensing”, DAS) to a fiber optic within a transmission/export cable Land-side connection (single mode), e.g. in a converter station. The connection and commissioning can be carried out by the DLR itself or by a manufacturing company commissioned by the DLR the DAS device used. Operation for several months (approx. 1 year) The cable must cross or accompany a main shipping route within the first approximately 80 km from the access point Use of the recorded DAS data for research purposes (R&D); this includes also the use of the data for scientific publications and studies. The regulation for this can be contractually agreed; a transfer or publication of the raw data can be excluded in order to protect company secrets and interests of the supplier.
