Guinea is a low-income country ranked 183rd out of 188 countries for its Human Development Index (UNDP, 2016). Geographically, Guinea occupies an area of 245, 857 km2 and is populated by 10, 523, 261 inhabitants (RGPH3, 2014). Its coast facing the Atlantic Ocean extends 320 km to the southwest and hosts the capital Conakry. She is divin four natural regions: Lower Guinea, Middle Guinea, Upper Guinea and Forest Guinea. Administratively, the country is subdivided into seven administrative regions (Bok, Kindia, Lab, Mamou, Faranah, Kankan and N`Zrkor) and the region of Conakry, constituted by the large urban area of the capital. The regions are in turnsubdivided into 33 prefectures, themselves subdivided into sub-prefectures (303 ruralcommunes and 38 urban communes, five of which make up the city of Conakry) .The latest Global Analysis of Vulnerability and Food and Nutrition Security (AGVSAN) conducted in 2012 showed that there were pockets of food insecurity in GuineaSerious attack, particularly in Forest Guinea and Faranah Prefecture. Moderate food insecurity remains predominant, especially during the winter season from July to September, during which a large part of the vulnerable population suffers from a food deficit due to a lack of physical and financial access to food.and the mismanagement of revenue and food stocks, rather than lack of availability. Food insecurity affects households in rural areas more than households in urban areas (WFP, 01/2014). According to the 2012 National Food Security Survey, the prevalence of food insecurity is the highest in the world.in the west (especially in the regions of Bok, Kindia and Conakry) and in the south-east (especially in the region of N`Zrkor), where demand exceeds supply, leading to higher prices than in the rest of the country.
