Tender Details

Tenders are invited for Improvement of Existing Water Distribution Network and Extension of Water Reticulation in Juba City.

1. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) AfDB1307-12/16 of 16 December 2016 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

2. The Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of the Resilient Water Project for Improved Livelihood in Juba (RWPILJ). It is intended to apply part of the proceeds of this financing will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Improvement of Existing Water Distribution Network and Extension of Water Reticulation in Juba City.

3. The South Sudan Urban Water Corporation (SSUWC) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for execution of the following Works:
a) Supply, laying, testing and commissioning of 6, 960 m clear water pumping mains of DN 300 GRP PN 16;
b) Supply laying, testing and commissioning of 12, 378 m clear water pumping main of DN 200 GRP PN 16;
c) Supply, laying, testing and commissioning of 6, 188 m clear water distribution main of DN 180 PE PN 10;
d) Construction of three (3) elevated galvanized steel storage tanks, each of 250 m3 nominal capacity;
e) Construction of two (2) ground level reinforced concrete water reservoirs of capacities 1, 500m3 and 250m3 respectively at the WTP and Konyo konyo.
f) Construction of thirty (30) Public water Sales Points (PsPs/Kioks).
g) Construction of five (5) Tanker filling stations,
h) Supply materials and House connections for 1000 households.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at office of SSUWC at the address below.

5. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address in (9) below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 50. The documents will be sent by courier or any other means, in case the interested bidder so wishes, provided the charges are prepaid to the nominated courier. Client shall not be responsible for inaccuracies or distortions that may occur in transit.

6. The provisions in the Instruction to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are those of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.

7. Bids must be delivered to address in below on or before 13:30 hours (East African Time) on Wednesday 20th February 2019 and must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 450, 000 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency in the form of an unconditional Bank Guarantee.

8. Bids shall remain valid for a period of 120 days after the deadline for bid submission.

9. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 14:00
hours (East African Time) on Wednesday 20th February 2019 at the address below.
