GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT FACILITY MICROFUNDING PROGRAM (MIF / FEM) CALL FOR PROJECTS INTRODUCTION The Micro Financem Program The Global Environment Facility (GEF / GEF) is a financial mechanism, implemented by UNDP, to reduce global environmental threats through community-based initiatives. Its strategy is to provide direct technical and financial support, up to 50, 000 USD, tocivil society organizations to support community initiatives that contribute to conserving natural resources and strengthen the resilience of the poor and vulnrables.Les focal areas of the GEF / SGP are: (i) biodiversity, (ii) climate change, (iii) international waters (Iv) land degradation, (v) chemicals and hazardous wastes.FMF / GEF activities started in Togo in 2009. Until 2016, the program funded 79 community initiatives and several national workshops in 7 rounds, for a total amount of more than two million five hundred thousand (2, 500, 000 ) USD. For its 6th operational phase, ongoing until June 2019
