FFF 3D printing system The UKM intends to procure a validated FFF 3D printing system for the production of patient-specific bone implants for applications in orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma surgery as well as oral and maxillofacial surgery Facial surgery directly at the point of care (PoC). The system must be validated according to the following standards: •ASTM F2026 ASTM F2026 - Standard Specification for Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) Polymers for Surgical Implant Applications •ISO 10993-1: Biological Assessment of medical devices - Part 1: Assessment and testing as part of risk management A filament-based additive manufacturing system in the material extrusion / material extrusion (MEX) process category according to ISO/ASTM 52900 is required Processing of implant-grade PEEK, especially VESTAKEEP® i4 3DF, for the additive manufacturing of patient-specific implants at the point of care. The manufacturing process of patient-specific PEEK implants must already be in place at the time of procurement have an MDR-compliant and validated end-to-end process with consistent process documentation.
