Expression of Interest are invited for DRC Mini-Grids Demand Assessment Study

Criteria:
- The consultant is expected to have substantial experience in mapping potential off-grid sites in the African context at the village-level.
- The consultant is expected to have substantial experience in analyzing big data including geo-spatial and earth observation data using machine learning algorithms.
- The consultant should demonstrate experience in designing and conducting on the ground surveys and analyzing results.
- The consultant should demonstrate solid experience and knowledge related to preparing energy access projects.
- The consultant should have off-grid electrification planning experience in at least three countries, including experience in Africa, and be familiar with energy access issues. Experience in assessing mini-grid viability in DRC is a plus.
- The consultant should also have engaged with the World Bank Group and similar clients on rural-electrification market assessments.
- The consultants should have a strong team of software developers, front-end engineers, back-end engineers and data-scientists.
- The consultant should use cloud-based GIS and document management, and applicable software experience includes Geoserver, PostGIS, Mapbox based map visualizations, QGIS, OpenJump, ArcGIS, GRASS, big data analysis using python as well as power flow modeling and mini-grid design software such as Homer.
- The working language with be English and French.
