As the fourth largest city, Zwickau is one of the country's regional centers and is part of the central German metropolitan region of Saxony Triangle. The city is located at around 267 m above sea level and has around 90, 000 inhabitants. The Local public transport in the city of Zwickau is implemented by Städtische Verkehrsbetriebe Zwickau GmbH (SVZ GmbH) and consists of two tram and thirteen bus lines. The bus network currently has a total of 29 CNG buses operated. As part of a negotiated procedure with a participation competition in accordance with the SektVO, SVZ GmbH intends to award the contract for the delivery of low-floor buses with CNG drive. The subject of this award procedure is step-by-step Renewal of the SVZ GmbH fleet in the financial year 2027.
