Under this assignment, the consulting firm (hereinafter referred to as "the Firm") is expected to perform the following tasks (1.1.2.):

As part of the above-mentioned project, GIZ ENWASS envisages to support the Ugandan Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE), Department of Water for Production (DWfP) in fulfilling its mandate of water development and management of water for production facilities (facilities refer to dams, valley tanks, bulk water transfer systems, wind mills and irrigation systems). It is the purpose of this consultancy therefore to review and update the operation and maintenance (O&M) strategy and plan, review and update the management manual for O&M of water for production (WfP) facilities and to develop the technical manual for O&M of WfP facilities.
The O&M strategy shall be a guiding document for the DWfP and its stakeholders in addressing O&M challenges for WfP facilities at national, regional, district and community levels, to improve functionality and sustainable use and management of these facilities. The technical and management manuals will inform the users and caretakers of the facilities about the technical and managerial aspects of the facilities and guide them in day-to-day operation, maintenance and management of the facilities respectively. The main part of the assignment will take place in Uganda, with some desk support before, during and after the field work.
