Save the children has been working in Somalia since 1951 delivering multisector programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, Food security and livelihood. Our health programs cover all aspects of the continuum of care: Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health. Our health portfolio is rapidly expanding, our geographic focus covers nine regions (Awdal, Bari, Nugal, Mudug, Galgadud, Bay, Bakool, Banadir, Hiiraan, Lower Jubaregions in Somalia. Our overall aim is to work with the MOH in Somalia to end preventable maternal, neonatal, and child deaths.

Save the children supported Health Programs South and Central Somalia:

In South central Somalia, all aspects of the continuum of care: Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health is implemented by save the children in partnership with Federal Ministry of health and respective state line minsters.

PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY:

The purpose of the consultancy is to pre-determine capable and experienced Somali consultants who will facilitate the training supported by SCI.

EXPERTISE REQUIRED:

The following attributes are requirements for the selection of qualified consultant/facilitator:

1. A minimum of University Degree in public health, B.Sc. Nutrition, Nursingmanagement, MSc Nursing, MPH, MBBS, MD, Degree in Pharmacy, MSc HMIS and relevant degree with potential experience.

2. Professional experience in facilitating workshops and developing materials for the workshops(minimum 2 years)

3. Proving experience for the implementation of Health/Nutrient project and previous experience on staff mentoring (TOR on above relevant training topics)

4. Strong facilitation skills and working knowledge in developing training manuals

5. Knowledge on issues relating to child rights and human rights based approach

6. A good trainer who can use various adult learning techniques to deliver lessons

7. A team player who can use participatory learning techniques in adult learning situation

8. A strong commitment to transfer knowledge and skills to the clients

9. Fluency in English oral and written, Somali language is mandatory.

10. Knowledge on EPHS program is desirable.

11. Very good command in written and spoken English, strongly reporting writing skills

12. At least 3 years of experience in facilitating Health related trainings.

13. ToT in (BEmONC, IMCI, ICCM, IMAM, IYCF, Social Mobilization, HMIS, EPI, PMTCT and relevant)

Duration of the assignment:

The duration of this assignment will be allocated according to the budget and time after candidate selected and contracted.
