Consultant with International Expertise in Development of Adaptation Project in River Basins.
Guinea, with an area of 245, 857 km2 and a population of 10, 523, 261 inhabitants (RGPH3-2014) of which 52% are women, has a huge agricultural and mining potential. The country is well watered by its geographical position with respect to the sea and has an important hydrographic network thanks to its relief marked by the Massif du Fouta Djallon and Dorsale Guinand in thecontext of the PNDES (2016-2020) priorities, the United Nations Financial Institutions (TFPs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the private sectorthe United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF 2018-2022). This plan was signed jointly by the United Nations System and the Government on 7 November 2017. In the same vein, UNDP as the UNS Agency has, inaccordance with its mandate, designed for the same period (2018-2022), a new development cooperation program acrossthe Country Program Document (CPD) aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and coherent with the national priorities defined in the PNDES. This country program comprises two areas of intervention: (i) Promotion of good governance for sustainable development and (ii) Economic transformation and sustainable management of natural capital.t should be reflected in the planning and design of projects as well as in their implementation. The sustainable management of natural capital sub-axis is one of the components of Pillar II (Economic Transformation and Sustainable Management of Natural Capital) .The Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Capital Program contributes to achieving this goal.4 of DPC products (2018-2022) and has a large portfolio of projects that are in the implementation phase and a pipeline of projects that are gradually maturing, with the potential donors being the GEF, the GCF, Adaptation, AfDB etc.The Republic of Guinea, as a country party to the United Nations Framework Convention for the ChClimate Change is eligible for the various funding windows in the fight against climate change.
