Consultancy service to produce background paper for policy dialogue on the implementation of UNSCR 1325 and 1820 in the IGAD region and the development of policy briefs for National Action Plans to implement UNSCRs on Gender, Peace and Security for Ethiopia and Somalia

IGAD Secretariat requires the services of a gender, peace and security research expert to conduct an assessment on the status quo of the implementation of UNSCR 1325 in the IGAD region with a particular focus on the respective National Action Plans (NAPs), the achievements and challenges in implementing the NAPs in the IGAD Member States as well as recommendations for IGAD as a regional organisation as well as for each IGAD Member State to boost UNSCR 1325 &1820 implementation. As Somalia and Ethiopia have not yet signed up the NAPs, the consultant will be requested to produce policy briefs for these two countries, which will build the basis for dialogue and support by IGAD to Ethiopia and Somalia in developing a NAP as well as a as roadmap to start the process.
