The Islamic Republic of Mauritania/ Garde Côtes Mauritanienne has obtained a grant from the German Financial Cooperation through the German KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW) for financing the above-mentioned project. The financing of the construction of the “New maritime facilities for the Garde Côtes Mauritanienne: surveillance quay at Nouadhibou and single point mooring at Nouamghar” will be borne by the respective project budget.

The works concern:

Construction of an offshore “L-shaped” sheet-piled jetty (length northern arm 170m + eastern arm 200m) for the mooring of the Coastguard’s patrol vessels connected to the shore line by a piled access jetty (west-east direction) approximately 700 meters long at Nouadhibou. The access jetty will support the water pipe and electric lines running from the shore to the mooring area. The sheet-piled jetty is founded on -7.0m below lowest tide. The facility at Nouamghar consists of a single point mooring for the smaller-sized patrol vessels only.
