Expression of Interest are invited for Assessment and Promotion of Productive Uses of Electricity in The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The goal of the assignment is to (i) assess current and potential demand for productive uses of electricity applications, understand supply chain of productive use appliances, and identify high-potential value chains and productive use applications in targeted areas; (ii) analyze the main barriers to PUE scale-up, understand current business models from DRCs private operators; and undertake a stakeholder mapping; and (iii) provide actionable recommendations on how market barriers might be overcome, identify options of interventions to promote productive uses of electricity and stimulate productive demand; and explore two or three investment opportunities with the objective of informing the design of a new Electricity Access project.

The study will focus on high-potential productive sectors in targeted areas of the project (cities of Goma, Kananga, Kinshasa, Mbuji-Maye, Tshikapa and surrounding areas).
