Description : With the project "Local and Provincial Economic Development (LPED) / Green Resilient Agricultural Productive Ecosystems GRAPE)" (PN 2018.2064.6), we are strengthening sustainable and climate-adapted agricultural ecosystems at the local level. The project is implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. The interdisciplinary project at the intersection of sustainable economic development (local economic development) and agriculture (climate-sensitive and climate change-adapted agricultural value chains) works in selected rural and urban communities of different altitudinal zones - from the plains at the foot of the Himalayas to the high mountain regions.
Community actors are empowered through participatory approaches to identify local challenges and comparative advantages, identify common priority actions, and implement them together. Knowledge actors are empowered to generate locally adapted knowledge together with value chain actors.
