795nm laser system At the Institute for Quantum Technology in Ulm, a laser system is needed to set up a quantum memory test system with rubidium gas. To build a quantum memory, two narrow linewidth laser diodes are needed. These two Lasers must be operated at slightly different frequencies, precisely adjusted to each other, to address first the 'signal transition' and then the 'control transition' in rubidium-87. The lasers must have two specific transitions Excite D1 lineage of rubidium-87. At least one of the two lasers must be stabilized on one of the two atomic lines; the second laser is either on the other line or preferably phase locked to the first laser under one Frequency offset of 6.835 GHz (so-called 'offset locking'), with this coupling being controlled by a microwave frequency reference. Both lasers must be coordinated, which is why common control is required.
