The Contracting Authority intends to issue a tender for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of one (1) 50-120MVAr oil-filled variable shunt reactor equipped with an on-load tap changer and including all necessary civil works at Maghtab Terminal Station in Malta. The contractor shall design in accordance with the parameters established in the tender. The main components of the project consist of: a. Design, manufacture and testing of the shunt reactor at the factory. b. Delivery of the shunt reactor and its ancillaries to site and lowering on the foundation. c. Design of civil engineering works, excavations, site preparation, construction of foundations, walls, etc to complete the shunt reactor bay. d.Assembly of the shunt reactor and its ancillaries. e. Provision of HV cables and connection of the equipment to the 132kV busbar. f. Provision of LV cables and connection of monitoring, control and protection equipment IEDs. g. Extension of low voltage supplies to the new shunt reactor bays. h. Commissioning and energisation. This tender is being co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Funding Programme 2021-2027.
