BACKGROUND One of the most important strategic priorities of Kolar municipality is strengthening vitality. One of the operational goals derived from the municipal strategy is to find out which key factors related to the operating environment, production methods, know-how, product development and new innovations and utilization of technology enable the renewal of livelihoods and investments in Kolar, and which factors act as an obstacle to growth. Survey work is also carried out as part of the municipality-managed Väyliä to the future - EU-part-financed development project. The main idea of the project is "With knowledge, with skill towards business growth." The goal is to map the current situation in cooperation with experts in the field and companies operating in the region, mirror the near-term prospects and produce up-to-date, future-proof information for the SMEs of the region to support operations. The investigation is focused on the center of the Kolar church village, the railway and industrial area, along Jokijalantie and Valtatie 21.
