Multivalent antivenin (Crotalidae) is an antitoxic serum. Antivenin is a sterile, nonpyrogenic preparation derived by drying a frozen solution of specific venom-neutralizing globulins from the serum of healthy horses immunized against the venom of Crotalus durissus (rattlesnake), Bothrops asper; This contains the basic antigen in the venoms of all members of the Crotalidae family.
