The united states department of agriculture (usda), animal plant health inspection services (aphis), plant protection and quarantine(ppq), pale cyst nematode program (pcn) intends to award a sole source purchase order to sioux corporation located in beresford, sd for two steam generators and accessories under the authority under the authority of far 13.106(b)(1)(i). The description of the generators and accessories include:
• model # sf-20 steam-flo, asme coded, oil fired steam generator with highway trailer package (built to specifications outlined in sole source justification (attachment 1)
• part no, sa00215, fitting connections for 2'' hose on steam-flo, which include hex head bushing, close nipple, and brass gate valve
• part no. Ac00485. Hose steam 2'' x20' 450 f250 psi with 10:1 safety factor boston 250 or goodyear flexsteel - with a 2" steam boss mpt end bolted at one end
the steam generator will be used in support of program mission requirements as outlined in rules and regulations cfr 301.85 and more specifically to accomplish heat treatments requirements. When the ppq golden nematode (gn) program was first implemented, the sioux steamer generators were designed specifically for the pcn and gn applications. The usda had purchased the current steam generators from sioux corporation. They are the only known company that manufactures this steam generator that meets all of the requirements to perform heat treatments as outlined in the regulations, program specific requirements, and meet the logistical needs of the stakeholders' isolated pcn and gn infested field locations.
The anticipated purchase order value is $82, 262.60. This notice is for informational purposes only. No formal solicitation will be issued.
